For this step, start by drawing an oval-ish shape for the basic form and perspective of the head. Then, draw two curving lines, one on the upper part of the head, and one on the snout. These guides will aid in placing the eyes and nostrils.

Now, using the guides we drew in step one, place the eyes, the brows, and the nostrils, as well as a small line almost connecting the right nostril and eye, to suggest at the bone and muscle structure under the skin.

This next step is a fairly large and significant one. erase the guide from step one, and add in the horns. I gave this dragon unique horns with various patterns and textures on it, but you can use whatever horns you would like. You can also add in the neck, make sure it curves smoothly and gradually. I've also decided to give this dragon a bag under his chin connecting to the neck similar to a pelican's. Perhaps this dragon uses it to store fish or air to better survive underwater. Also, add in his ear under the horn, right beside the corner of it's mouth. more

In this step, add in the scaly pattern on the underside of the horn facing you, and add the webbed spines curving around the neck as it twists and just starting to pop back up where the neck ends.

In this last step, you'll be adding in all the water surrounding the dragon and splashing off of him. Water, especially when it's splashing, can be very intimidating to draw if you haven't before. Trust me, I know! This was the first time drawing water for me but I'm very pleased with the result. Helpful tip, make sure you capture the energy and movement of the splashing waves and foam, and use mine as a guide. more

To keep things simple I will break down the steps in an easy to tackle manner. Instead of drawing both arms and talons, just draw out the left one first. Once the arm, elbow, and clawed foot is drawn in you can sketch in some detailing.

Step six entails you drawing out the right arm and talon or clawed foot. There should be detailing and definition sketched in on the arm and top of the hand, and then draw out more frills in a fin like pattern.

How To Draw A Dragon (water /sea Dragon) Video & Step By Step Pictures

Description: Hi ya'll! I'm going to be submitting another lesson tonight, on a dragon, like requested last night. This dragon is of a water element, and it lurks in the deep waters of the ocean. When this dragon flies, bubbles of water trail with it, as does the tail, beard, and back frills. I had so much fun coloring this dragon, but had a problem with the first background I completed this with. The first background was too dark and lacked a 'watery' value. I really hope you'll enjoy this lesson as much as I have, get prepared with a few drawing utensils to get started. If you're not familiar with dragons, please don't hesitate to check out my other tutorials that teach the basics of the various forms of dragons. Thanks for viewing, and don't forget to lend me your feedback on how you and I did on this tut! Peace out and happy drawing!
